      Abstract
      Kualitas komunikasi dan pola komunikasi yang efektif antara orang tua dan anak sangat penting dilakukan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak karena anak dan orang tua akan saling terbuka, mendukung, berempati, bersikap positif dan memiliki kesetaraan dalam mengkomunikasikan hal-hal apa saja yang dirasakan, diharapkan, dan dipikirkannya. Selain itu, motivasi belajar anak dapat dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik individu yang dimiliki anak maupun orang tua. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan komunikasi yang efektif antara orang tua dan anak terhadap motivasi belajar anak. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan didukung oleh data kualitatif melalui observasi lapang, wawancara mendalam kepada informan, dokumentasi dan studi literatur terkait. Teknik pemilihan responden yaitu menggunakan teknik sensus sebanyak 34 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan nyata antara komunikasi orang tua dan anak dan pola komunikasi demokratis dengan motivasi belajar anak. Sementara itu, tidak terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik anak dan karakteristik orang tua dengan motivasi belajar anak.
       
      The quality of communication and effective communication patterns between parents and children is very important in increasing children's learning motivation because children and parents will be open, supportive, empathetic, positive and have a good attitude in communicating what things they feel, expect, and think about. In addition, a child's learning motivation can be influenced by individual characteristics that both the child and the parents have. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship of effective communication between parents and children to children's learning motivation. The method used in this study is quantitative using questionnaires and is supported by qualitative data through field observation, in-depth interviews with informants, documentation and related literature studies. The respondent selection technique is to use the census technique of 34 students. The results showed that there is a real relationship between parent and child communication and democratic communication patterns with children's learning motivation. Meanwhile, there is no relationship between the characteristics of the child and the characteristics of the parents with the child's learning motivation.
