      Abstract

Kaliage Island is one of the islands which included in the administration area of the Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta, which located at coordinates 5°39'42" South Latitude - 106°34'5" East Longitude. Kaliage Island is one of the tourist destinations in the Thousand Islands which is quite attractive. Coral fish are one of the biota that live on coral reefs and are very dependent on the condition of coral reefs. This study was conducted to determine the structure of the reef fish community on Kaliage Island, Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta. Reef fish data was collected using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method which included fish species and the estimated number of fish. Analysis of fish community structure data was obtained through analysis of diversity index, evenness index, and dominance index. Reef fish found during the study were 3.117 which were divided into 16 families, 32 genera, and 54 species. The composition of major fish, targets, and indicators respectively 85,98%, 11,29%, and 2,73% of the total individuals. The index values of diversity, evenness, and dominance are 2,53; 0,87; and 0,10 respectively. This shows that the condition of the reef fish community on Kaliage Island is classified as good, stable, and there is no dominance of certain species.
