dc.description.abstractSuccessful product development is one of important objectives of companies, thus, a measurement of success in new product development is needed. This research aims to know factors that determine the success of new product development (NPD) and analyze the performance of NPD processes at PT.XYZ. To achieve this objectives, metrics of NPD success is developed based on literature study and in depth interview with the company. In this research, metrics of NPD success is developed based on process, organizational, and product performance. Process performance dimension includes indicators related to idea generation, process development time, launched on market, and financial analysis. Indicators of organizational performance dimension includes indicators of cross-functional departments management and involvement of external parties, and employee roles fit with the organization. Product performance dimension includes indicators related to customer acceptance, customer satisfaction, product quality, and market share. This newly developed metrics are tested on the NPD process of two new products from PT. XYZ. From the results, it is concluded that the metrics are validated and accepted by the company and can be used to measure the NPD process success.id
dc.description.abstractPengembangan produk yang sukses merupakan salah satu tujuan penting perusahaan, oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu ukuran keberhasilan dalam pengembangan produk baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan pengembangan produk baru (NPD) dan menganalisis kinerja proses NPD di PT.XYZ. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, metrik keberhasilan NPD dikembangkan berdasarkan studi literatur dan wawancara mendalam dengan perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini, metrik keberhasilan NPD dikembangkan berdasarkan kinerja proses, organisasi, dan produk. Dimensi kinerja proses mencakup indikator yang terkait dengan pembentukan ide, waktu pengembangan proses, peluncuran di market, dan analisis keuangan. Indikator dimensi kinerja organisasi meliputi indikator manajemen lintas fungsional departemen dan keterlibatan pihak eksternal, serta peran karyawan sesuai dengan organisasi. Dimensi kinerja produk meliputi indikator yang terkait dengan penerimaan pelanggan, kepuasan pelanggan, kualitas produk, dan pangsa market. Metrik yang baru dikembangkan ini diuji pada proses NPD dua produk baru dari PT. XYZ. Dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa metrik tersebut divalidasi dan diterima oleh perusahaan dan dapat digunakan untuk mengukur keberhasilan proses NPD.id
