      Abstract

Wave monitoring at sea needs to be done because it has an influence on the dynamics that occur on the coast and can help planning coastal development activities, ports, shipping lines and traffic. A floating vehicle such as a wavebuoy with a 10 DOF MEMS IMU sensor (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and pressure) can be used to measure sea level waves. In the waters of the seagrass conservation area of Bintan Island, the installed wavebuoy can detect the movement of sea surface waves. The recorded data is in the form of wavebouy movements on the X, Y, Z axis at a frequency of 1Hz-15Hz from the movement of surface waves. The movement of surface waves in these waters dominantly affects wavebuoy motion towards
