Isolates of P. Flourencens B29 and P. Flourencens B39 were able to inhibit the growth of Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines in planta DNA profile analysis employing PulredPPeld Gel Elixtrophrsris (PFGE) demonstrated that I? flrrorescens B29 was different from ?? flrrorescens B39 and both were distinguishable from I? flrrorescem A506 (a commercial biocontrol strain) or I? fhorescem ATCC13525. 1F5ardomna~jb mrescens B29 and B39 were unable to induced hypersensitive responses in tobacco leaf, which might suggest that these bacteria were not plant pathogens. Pseuclornonarflrrorescens B29 and B39 did not excrete bioactive compoand which presumably responsible for the inhibition of X campestrh pv. &cines growth in pZunfa The inhibition activity against X cornpestris pv. g&cines in phta, might be due to the epiphytic fitness of l? jkorescens B29 and B39 as biocontrol agents. Apparently, these bacteria sewed as superior competitors in nutrition resource depletion or in the colonization of the same ecological niche of soybean phyllosphere.
