Hartono, Maiyani; Sugiarti, Sri; Darusman, Latifah K.
Synthesis of nanomagnetite was complete by hydrothermal on mixtures of urea, citric acid and some of iron
salts: FeCl3·6H2O at 200 o
C (FE120), FeCl3·6H2O at 250 o
C (FE125), FeSO4·7H2O at 200 o
C (FE220), and FeSO4·7H2O
at 250 o
C formula. Each of formula showed that averages of crystal sizes were 24.89 nm, 25.82 nm, 28.22 nm
and 50.78 nm by XRD identification. Application of FE120 nanomagnetites was applied into spinaches increased
concentration of iron and nitrogen after 30 days growth. The iron concentration was increased 3.62 % on soil
media and 38.81 % on compos soil media. Nitrogen concentrations were increased 27.32 % on soil media and
66.67 % on compos soil media. Based on increased of iron and nitrogen concentration, there were influent of
chlorophyll concentration 20.80 % on compos soil media and 8.87 % on soil media. Spinach that applied into
media show the physics quality of stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area, and stem number better than control.
Soil media and compos soil media weren’t contaminated by iron and nitrogen inside of FE120 nanomagnetite.

Xylan extraction from corncob is done by using alkaline as solvent. Xylan extraction from comcob could give the yields as 10.9%. One percent of corncob xylan is useti as substrate to produce the xylanase, compared to oatspelt xylan. Immobilization of xylanase was performed using 1% EudragifTll S100 solution (wlv), with 5:1 volume ratio of xylanase and 1 % EudragifTM S100 (wlv). Activity of the immobilized xylanase was decteased to 23.97% compared with free xylanase. Immobilized xylanase have optimum pH and temperature at 6.0 and 40't: respectively, have also thermal stability at 30-40't: for an hour. immobilization xylanase could be reused, but its activity decreased to 52.38% after 3 times application. Key words : xilanase, Streptomyces, amobile

Kedawung is a Leguminosae/Fabaceae which. It is commonly used as traditional medicine for infection and stomach disoders, caused by bactena. . . The aim of this study is to eXiiII1ine the potential antimicrobial actNity of seed, bart<, root and kedawung leaf It is expected that the result will gIVe mformatmn on charactenstlCs and concentration of kedawung part which have the highest antimicrobiaJ activity. The resuH showed that the bart< has the highest anlimicrobial activity on Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus. Extract medetrorn kedawung plant and water (ratio t:2,/Yv) was beffer than those mede wHh ratios of 1 : 1 or 1 : 3 (b/v). Hed did not decrease Its antimicrobial actrvHy. Extract conceniratlOn of 10"10 (21.40 mifmO wHh contact time of 24 hour decreased bacterial growth but did not inactivate them.
