Squids are the numerous of marine catches in Indonesian waters. One of the largest producers of squid is in Bangka Belitung islands. The objective of this research is to determine apolo’s color of the squid jig that produces the most squids in the Tuing waters, North Bangka. The research method used was experimental fishing by using 4 squid jigs with red and green artificial baits (apolo). Squid jigging operational was repeated up to 36 times. The squid jigs consisted of main line, branch line, swivel, sinker, roller and “apolo”. The size of apolo is 9 cm in order to catch the larger squids and get the size of squid’s mature gonad. The results showed that squid jigs with the red apolo caught squids more than green apolo. The red apolo obtained 68 tail weighs 11.650 kg, while the green apolo obtained 39 tail weighs 6.735 kg. The red wave-lenght got significant results, since it was longer than the green. Therefore, the squids could see the artificial bait (apolo) more clearly.id
