Determination of footprint area model using body weight and height as prediction parameters
Abstract
Sinkage prediction is important in the study of off-road vehicle performance in order to achieve its efficiency and effectiveness. The method to predict the sinkage should be as simple as human foot sinkage so that farmers can predict singkage easily and quickly. Predicting of human foot sinkage needs weight and footprint area paramaters, whereas footprint area needs body weight and height parameters. The purpose of this research was to determine footprint area model (A) using body weight (W) and height (H) as dependence variables. The methodology used in this research was the employment of anthropometry approach and statistical analysis. The results showed that weight and height generally correlated positively to footprint area, hence that footprint area model was significant if it predicted with body weight and height. Mean differences calculation between footprint area from observation and footprint area model showed that the best footprint area model for male was whole area of left footprint model and whole area of right footprint model for female subjects. Those footprint area models were Awl = (-3.928) + 0.880W + 0.800H and Awr = 9.417 + 0.744W + 0.661H. Prediksi ketenggelaman roda merupakan hal penting untuk diperhitungkan dalam studi kinerja sebuah kendaraan off-road yang beroperasi pada suatu lahan agar tercapai efisiensi dan efektifitas kinerja kendaraan. Hal tersebut seyogyanya dapat diukur dengan alat/metode yang sederhana seperti ketenggelaman telapak kaki agar petani lebih mudah dan cepat dalam memprediksi ketenggelaman roda kendaraannya. Parameter yang diperlukan untuk memprediksi ketenggelaman telapak kaki adalah berat badan dan luasan telapak kaki, sedangkan untuk memprediksi luasan telapak kaki diperlukan parameter berat dan tinggi badan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model luasan telapak kaki (A) subjek laki-laki dan perempuan dengan parameter berat badan (W) dan tinggi badan (H).
