dc.description.abstractOne of the possible solutions to overcome the problems of a country’s capital is to move its capital city. The moving of the capital which was well designed and well executed can be a solution to overcome the problems of the nation's capital. There are three common reasons for moving the capital, namely socio-economic considerations, political considerations, and geographical considerations. Jakarta as the capital of Indonesia has a lot of problems so that the government has discourses about moving its capital. Discourses of moving the capital require further investigation and learning from other countries who had moved its capital. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the transfer of the nation’s capital by analyzing 26 selected countries in the period of 1990, 2000, and 2010, by using logistic regression. Nations that moved its capital in general is developing countries, and has split-type capital cities. The factors that significantly affect the relocation of the capital is the GDP per capita, land area, population, population density, and type of the capital. In the plan of moving its capital, the government should use the split-type capital since this type of capital is more likely to be done.en
