dc.description.abstract | The research is aimed to analyze food labels and claims in instant seasoning and condiment by using content analysis method. Content analysis is qualitative which is used to deepen the study about written document (label). The researched variabels are product type, producing company (the manufacture company), instant seasoning and condiment categories, label element is like in the written information on label, and the content of claim in label. The data processing uses a descriptive analysis. The research result from 98 products which is evaluated based on Government Regulations Number 69 on 1999 shows that there are labels which have not approriated yet. Based on Consumer Protection Law, the violations have occured in the inclusion of expired date and the unclear of ingredients inclusion so that the producer violates consumer rights to get a true, clear, and honest information, and also the rights of consumer safety. The result also shows that there are some subjective (deceiving) claims in instant seasoning and condiment. The managerial implication from this research is producer has to be careful in claim inclusion so that it can not deceive the consumer. The producer also has to pay attention to the package label so that it approriates based on the existing regulations. | en |
