The research aimed was to examine the mechanical properties of acacia wood from the different ages. The methods applied were either destructive or non-destructive testing. Statistical analysis used was complete randomized factorial design using two factors, i.e. tree age (factor A) and wood position at the tree (factor B) with six replications. Mechanical properties of small clear specimen tested were bending strength (MOE & MOR), compressive and tensile strength parallel to grain and hardness of wood. The result revealed that in full scale specimen the highest MOEdvalue from non-destructive testing was ultrasonic wave method of SylvatestDuo® with value of 136026 kg/cm2 whereas the MOEp value of deflection method of MPK Panter® was 62829 kg/cm2. In comparison, the ultrasonic wave method of MOEd was 50% higher than MOEp. The small clear specimens sample showed that the static destructive testing of MOE value was 85073 kg/cm2, which was that value 30% lower than the ultrasonic wave non-destructive testing. Statistical analysis concluded that there were no significant difference from three different ages (5, 6, and 7 years old) on mechanical properties of wood.en
