Green Open Space (GOS) of housing is potential for ex-situ conservation. This study aims to determine the diversity potential of GOS vegetation on two housings (Griya Melati Housing and Pakuan Regency) in West Bogor District for ex-situ conservation. Exploratory method was used to observe GOS for public and random sample method for GOS on home gardens. The residents and housing officials interviews were used to support the research data. The number and diversity of GOS plants in Griya Melati were bigger than Pakuan Regency. It was because of the residence time in the housing, housing regulations, and residents interaction with GOS plants. There were 14 species (CITES), 8 species (IUCN), or 2 species (PP No.7 Year 1999) of protected plants that found on GOS. Awareness of the importance of ex-situ conservation of each person is one of important factor in variations in the number and diversity of GOS plants of housing. The higher a person's awareness in preserving plant, the higher the interaction with the plant. This leads to increase the insights on conservation and make the ex-situ conservation as a form of preservation of germplasm, particularly endangered plants.en
