Studi Antropometri Petani dan Aplikasinya pada Penggunaan Knapsack Sprayer di Kecamatan Wedung Kabupaten Demak Jawa Tengah
Abstract
Knapsack sprayer (KS) is a sprayer which is operated manually with a lever and can be carried on the back of the operator. This tools are usually used by farmers for application of liquid matters in agriculture. The purpose of this study is to identify the anthropometric of farmers in Wedung District, Demak; ascertain level of compliance of KS to the farmer’s anthropometry; determine the appropriate dimension of KS which is match to farmers anthropometry. Data retrieval is performed using a random sampling method to get subject of 131 people whom consist of 69 male farmers and 62 female farmers, 50 measures of antropometric parameters which consists of 18 and 32 parameters of stand up and sit down position, respectively. Mean, standard of deviation, standard error of mean (SEM), and coefficient of variation (CV) of each antropometric measures were collected as well based on the antropometric data. As results, antropometric data of male and female were collected in 5th, 50th, and 95th percentiles. Dimensional design of KS was then analyzed. The results revealed that optimum dimension of KS’s tank for wedung male and female farmers respectively are 44x33x14 and 42x32x14 (in centimeters), with optimum inlay is 20 and 16 kilogram. The optimum length dimension of pump’s grip is 9 cm (male) and 8 cm (female), and 3.5 cm (wide dimension). The optimun length dimension of sprayer’s grip is 11.5 cm (male) and 10.5 cm (female), with 2.5 and 1.65 cm for middle and below diameters, respectively. The optimum length dimension of hose is 83 cm (male) and 78 cm (female).
