The research aimed to determine the influence of rapid aging and natural storage of the viability on several varieties of peanuts seed that has different size and anthocyanin content. The research was conducted in February-May 2012 in Science and Seed Technology Laboratory, and Laboratory of Molecular Marker and UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, IPB. Bogor. The peanut seed that used were Kelinci, Kancil, Bison, and Tuban. The research include two experiments. The first experiment was the influence of rapid aging viability several varieties of peanut seeds. The second experiment was the influence of natural storage viability on several varieties of peanut seeds in. The research used completely randomized design (CRD) one factor with four treatment of rapid aging in 0, 24, 48, and 72 hours and natural storage in 0, 1, 2, and 3 months. The results showed that the varieties of Kelinci are small and low anthocyanin content not resistant to rapid aging and natural storage show by seed vigor. The varieties of Kancil are large and low anthocyanin content not resistant to rapid aging, but resistant to natural storage show by seed viability and vigor.Varieties of Bison high content of anthocyanin resistant to rapid aging and natural storage. Varieties of Tuban showed dormancy phenomen shown by viability and seed vigor increased.en
