dc.description.abstractThere are three types of transportation in Gunung Walat University Forest (GWUF), which are copal carrying, pine resin carrying, and pine resin transportation. Roadnetwork and other opening forest area construction are built to support the copal and pine resin transportation. Roadnetwork in GWUF are consist of main road, branch road, and pathway. Data was collected by two methods, they are field data collection and measurement and planning alternatives roadnetwork of copal and pine resin transportation on maps using ArcView GIS 3.3 software, which is appraised by three aspects, they are ecological, economic, and social. Based on three aspects are specified as the basis for quantification of several indicators. Intensity of opening forest area in GWUF is fall under the mid-level category with the main road density is 15,90 m/ha and the branch road density is 18,10 m/ha. The status quo FJP score is 1,87 with JPS as far as 988,52 m and JPT as far as 528,12 m. The three alternative model have a mid-level PWH intensity. Alternative III has the smallest FJP score in 1,28 with JPS as far as 716,24 m and JPT as far as 561,69 m. The cost of road construction of alternative I, alternative II, alternative III, respectively is Rp. 315.359,00, Rp. 991.697.019,00, and 1.682.150.385,00. Alternative III has the highest cost due to the redesigning of the entire status quo roadnetwork. Alternative III has the highest productivity per km on pine resin carrying and pine resin haulage, which is, respectively, 137,55 kg/km/hour and 275,42 kg/km/hour. On the other hand, model of transportation with the highest productivity of copal carrying is alternative II with 801,61 kg/km/hour. Based on the benefit value analysis method, alternative III is chosen as the best copal and pine resin transportation alternative due to the highest total of the sum of class placement.en
