Mucuna bracteata is a plant that is very effectively used as a legume cover crop (LCC), which is a cover crop plant that have a function to suppress weeds growth. Productivity of M. bracteata shoots in tissue culture have an effect in the plantation industry. However, at a certain subculture from the multiplication medium to the next subculture, there is a decline in shoot growth of M. bracteata. This study aims is to increase the number of shoots of M. Bracteata with stress methods of culture induction of shoots. Medium stress treatments performed for 14 days in the dark and bright with the composition of medium MS macro 0-25% (A), MS macro 25-50% (B), MS macro 50-75% (C), sucrose 50-75% (D), and vitamins 50-75% (E). After observation for two months, the number of shoots is same between sample with the media's treatment of (A), (B), and (E), even the number is decreasing 100%. That is unlike the (C) which the number of shoots is increase. Similar thing occurs in (D) treatment, although it is not as good as (C). Differences of storage space affect the morphology of the explants. Explants were incubated in the dark room similar to the sprouts, while the explants were incubated in the light have a morphology that similar to the original plant. This shows that the best media of stress treatment used is a composition of MS macro 0-25% (C) in bright conditions. Mucuna bracteata merupakan tanaman yangdigunakan sebagai legume cover crop, yakni tanaman penutup tanah yang berfungsi menekan pertumbuhan gulma. Produktivitas tunas M.bracteata dalam kultur jaringan mempengaruhi hasil industri perkebunan. Namun, terdapat kendala, yakni pada subkultur tertentu di media multiplikasi ke subkultur selanjutnya terjadi penurunan tunas. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan jumlah tunas M. bracteata dengan metode cekaman pada kultur induksi tunas. Perlakuan cekaman media dilakukan selama 14 hari di ruang gelap dan terang dengan komposisi media MS makro 0-25% (A), 25-50% (B), dan 50-75% (C), sukrosa 50-75% (D), serta vitamin 50-75% (E). Setelah dilakukan pengamatan selama dua bulan, komposisi perlakuan (A), (B), dan (E) jumah tunas eksplannya tetap bahkan menurun. Berbeda dengan (C), jumlah tunas eksplan terus meningkat 100%. Hal serupa juga terjadi pada perlakuan (D) walaupun tidak sebaik (A). Perbedaan ruang penyimpanan mempengaruhi morfologi eksplan. Eksplan yang diinkubasi di ruang gelap mirip dengan kecambah, sedangkan eksplan yang diinkubasi di ruang terang morfologinya serupa dengan tanaman aslinya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa media cekaman yang paling baik digunakan adalah perlakuam MS makro 0-25% (C) di kondisi terang.
